Teachers are no different than any other user. I found that here everyone said they wanted smart boards in reality they wanted Smart Notebook because of the community behind it and the ease of finding great content and prebuilt lessons. Many interactive products, promethean, Mimio, Interwrite etc all have their own software but it seems the community behind it is not as "big" as Smart Notebook.
Bring a technology integrationist or a team of teachers in and explain the technology limitations and present options and let them decide. Then that will be the new standard and roll it out.

Feel free to PM at any time if you have questions! Currently our biggest issue is getting it installed due to the fact that we are still running Version The High cost of upgrading is another issue. Our teachers don't use enough of the features to justify the cost. It also takes a long time to install.
What’s New with SMART Notebook 15?
Teachers that do use it want it installed in a couple of minutes and ready to use. Most of our computers take 45 minutes to a hour to install it which means I have to keep coming back and checking on it. That was exactly our problem with Notebook 11 for Mac! It may work better for you than it did for us. But as you're trying that, give ClassFlow a chance, and see if the formatting holds up better.
We are also running an older version of the software as I agree the shift to the subscription model of licensing is way to cost prohibitive. Our staff don't overly use the full features of the smart board software and I can not justify the high cost of the software. In Australia my local suppliers can only get one model of smart board imported through the distributor and so we have now planned to completely move away from smartboards in the upper classes and replace them with standard TV's.
